1. From your desktop, launch the LockDown Browser application. *Note: If you are using a Chromebook, you will log into Canvas from Google Chrome or another supported browser first. Click here for more information about using LockDown Browser on a Chromebook.
2. Sign in using your UT Southern email account. Accept the Duo push notification if prompted.
3. You should see your Canvas dashboard. From here, you can navigate to your course and select the quiz you will take.
4. Once you have navigated to the quiz, click Take the Quiz.
5. Read through the Terms of Use, and then click Agree.
6. Your webcam should turn on automatically. Click Yes.
7. You will now record a test video to ensure your sound is working correctly. Click Record Five Second Video.
8. Your video will play back for you. Please make sure you can hear the audio from the video, then click Continue.
9. Read through the additional instructions, then click Continue.
10. Read through the Guidelines + Tips section. Once you reach the last page of Guidelines + Tips, click Continue.
11. You will now take a photo to confirm your identity. Position yourself clearly in the frame of the photo, then click Take Picture.
12. Your photo will be displayed in the right frame. Make sure your face is fully visible, then click Continue.
13. You will now take a photo of your ID to further verify your identity. Your UT Southern Student ID card is commonly used here unless otherwise specified by your instructor. Position your ID in the frame and click Take Picture.
14. The picture of your ID will be displayed in the right frame. Confirm that your ID is fully visible, then click Continue.
15. You will now record a video of your workspace to ensure there are no study materials that will be used in the test. When you are ready, click Start Recording. When you are finished, click Stop Recording.
16. Play back your recording to ensure your entire workspace is captured in the video. Click Continue.
17. Make sure your face is visible and well-lit. Once Lockdown Browser detects your face, you will see a green check mark. Click Continue.
18. Click Begin Exam.
19. Your exam will now begin. Once you finish and click Submit on your exam, you will be taken to a screen where you can provide feedback to Respondus if you encountered any issues. Once you have given your feedback, click Submit.
20. You will be taken to the results screen of your exam. From here, you can safely exit Lockdown Browser by clicking the red "X" in the top right corner of your screen.
