What is the New Canvas Document Processor?
The new Document Processor in Canvas streamlines how instructors use Turnitin within assignments by integrating similarity and AI detection directly into the grading workflow. Instead of using the traditional Turnitin assignment creation process, instructors can enable Turnitin within standard Canvas assignment settings and review similarity reports and AI writing indicators directly in SpeedGrader.
This updated workflow keeps everything in one place—allowing instructors to view student submissions, access originality reports, and evaluate academic integrity more efficiently.
This feature does not replace the existing Turnitin assignment workflow. The Document Processor provides an additional option for using Turnitin to check the integrity of student submissions.
