The application allows for multi-stream recording, meaning users can capture both their screen and webcam simultaneously. Additionally, Kaltura Capture includes basic editing tools and integrates directly with Kaltura’s cloud platform for seamless video management and sharing.

  1. Download and Install Kaltura Capture

    • Log into Canvas and navigate to the MyMedia tab. 

    • Click "Add New" and select "Kaltura Capture."

    • Download the installer for Windows or Mac and follow the installation instructions.

  2. Launch Kaltura Capture

    • Open the application from your desktop or within Canvas. 

    • Ensure your microphone, camera, and screen-sharing settings are configured.

  3. Record a Video

    • Select your recording options: Screen, Webcam, or Both.

    • Click the Record button to start.

    • Use the annotation tools (if needed) to highlight information during the recording.

    • Click Stop when finished and confirm saving the recording.

  4. Edit and Upload

    • Preview the recording and trim any unnecessary sections.

    • Click Upload to send the video to MyMedia in Canvas. 

    • Add titles, descriptions, and tags for better organization.

  5. Embed and Share

    • Locate your uploaded video in your MyMedia library.

    • Use the embed or share options to add the video to your Canvas course.
